Why is a birthing doula needed?

A birthing doula support expected moms and their partner during pregnancy and assist them during labor. They even help you with your initial breastfeeding and basic newborn needs.

There is so much to do to get ready for birth. A mom needs to be prepared emotionally, physically, intellectually, and socially. Neglecting one or more of these areas can be the difference between a positive birthing experience and a negative one. A lot of expected moms prepare themselves intellectually by reading books on pregnancy, what to expect during labor and newborn care, but they fail to prepare themselves in other areas. Many avoid deep introspection and emotions about birth, especially fear. While some do the opposite, and prepare for the fear, and ignore the realities of the medical world, and the social part. This is where I come in! I make sure that all areas are covered. I support you so that you can have the birthing experience that you desire and planned for.
